I searched 'Wanda" and found a post dated 6 Oct 2003. Lotta history out there. Just checking out the new place.

History goes back much further.  Before this site there was another that is no longer available.

Hi Folks,

I remember Wanda, she was a very active individual, often posting, although in the end, I felt her health got the better of her sadly. May she rest in peace.

Myself, I was part of the earlier HCL group, I think it was Rob's user friendly HCL Network 54 site. Can't remember the exact name of it, but it was probably the foremost  worldwide support site at the time, which, when I was diagnosed with HCL, had a bunch of guys who were all very helpful, educated survivors.

It's been so long since I was on Rob's site, I forgot my user name and password. I joined in 2000, having had treatment in The Netherlands, although I am a Londoner, but I lived in The Hague. Treatment was Cladribine, bloody awful side effects. After it returned in 2001, and treated in 2002, with 2cda, a more pleasant form of chemo, and thanks to the hospital and of course to God, I am still alive today.

I now live in Houston, Texas, and been free of HCL to date, although I have since suffered prostate cancer and skin cancer. I bought a T-shirt through Rob's site, still have it somewhere, the logo, for anyone who remembers, was about a mouse, something along the lines of: if I were a mouse, I would be cured. Sorry, but it was long ago, can't remember too much, I'm an old fart these day.

If anyone was a member on the old site, I'd love to touch base with you all again. Likewise any new members here.

For those of you who have since been diagnosed and/or treated, I trust you are well. HCL was extremely rare then, as was the treatment, such that I never actually met another sufferer to this day.

Bless you all.

Yes the site your talking about was put up by.......Mark Taubensee I have it posts at:
search.php?keywords=%22Mark+Taubensee%2 ... mit=Search

Once I invited him to drop in, he never did to my knowledge. Yes the history of HCL goes back to the 80s and maybe 70s--can't recall. The oldest post on my site is the one I found by typing in Wanda. That's because she was also on Marks site where I first met up with her.

Allan? Is that you? Rob's old site is this one--thanks to business and upgrading you are stuck with this format. I really don't like it but at least it's still alive. If you're not Allen I apologize. Anyway, I still struggle to get around this place. Nope I do not care to learn the crap to operate it--as if that'd make it better.

My original format The User Friendly Site was so much clearer to me. The things this software adds doesn't really excite me. I do not have a smart phone--nor would I be using it for here. I could care less how many hits a post has or how many people posted to it. But at least information can be found here and apparently alllll my posts have been transferred over--that was the reason I searched for the oldest post here. I was curious if they'd transferred them all. It seems they did. Thank you Wanda where ever you are!

Oh, as far as I know Mark Taubensee's old site is long gone, no archives--on the other hand they say everything is recorded. Maybe Home Land Security has it?  Hahaha

Yes I was on Mark's site back in 1997. Also talked with Wanda many times. Also there was a dentist on the site
and like WAID was able to answer medical questions for the group. Do not remember his name. Many of us are still around. Thanks again Rob for all your effort. Although this site is not like the good ole one, it is better than nothing.
Best to all Mel

He called himself Dizzy. lat I heard form him was years ago, met up with him in Oceanside, Ca a couple of times. He'd rent his beach side place out to Lyn (Linn?) and her husband who had HCL. I met with them a cople of times also. They came over from Las Vegas and were all very nice people. We've all been out of touch for years so I can't update their info.

Yes you are right. It was dizzy and he was not a dentist. Shows how dizzy I am.

I remember Angus from Mark's site.  Major pain in the ass, but it was entertaining.

That wasn't the guy who went to Saddleback Church was it? That guy didn't even have HCL as I recall. He didn't know what he had. I'm not sure of the name. It might be someone else.
