There are a few gaps that i am hoping to fill in with as much help as possible.
Its a big ask i know but any help is greatfully appreciated.
Only information I have is below, but I am sure there is a book about the history of 10 Squadron during the war but can't remember the name.
Maybe worth contacting the Archive Department at Yorkshire Air Museum at Elvington near York, when I was a volunteer, Mark worked in that department, but that's 4 years ago.
Halifax II - JD272 (ZA-F)
Took off from Melbourne (near York, very close to Elvington) at 1917 on operations to Hanover. All the crew lost and buried in the Reichwald Forest War Cemetery, their average age was 20!!
The raid on the evening 27/28th September 1943 suffered heavy losses, totalling 46 aircraft.
The crew of JD272 were:
Sgt A. Rostron
Hope this helps, sorry I can't send you any photographs.
