Halifax 111, HX347 (ZA-Q) of No.10 Squadron, RAF 4 Group Bomber Command, took off from Melbourne (near York) at 2201 to bomb rail installations.
Crashed at Eppegem (Brabant), a small village roughly halfway between Brussels and Mechelen.
Of those who died when the Halifax exploded four have no known grave, but Pilot Officer Lassey and the two Air Gunners are buried in the Brussels Town Cemetery.
