The Proving Grounds used to be a secret Guylos weapons research and testing facility. Built in an out-of-the-way location, the main ground-level building was literally buried by the construction crews for additional security: an artificial hill was built on top of the complex. However, the building at what was once ground level is only a small part of the total complex. Radial shaped around a central large chamber, ten separate hangars all connect to the central room and one entry tunnel leads into the base proper. This tunnel used to continue on to the Whale King hangar nearby that served as the cover for transport Zoids coming and going, but the intervening portion of tunnel has been opened to outside air after the base's declassification. Each hangar can house one large size Zoid comfortably and has living quarters (with privacy) for up to three individuals. They also have basic maintenance equipment for adding or removing components. The central room is little more than the base hub, access to the hangars, entry and exit, and access to the base's lower level via a large central elevator platform that takes up the majority of the floor. The elevator can fit up to four large Zoids at a time and lowers them slowly through nearly two hundred feet of stone to a cavernous lower level.

The lower level of The Proving Grounds is where all the action happened, and where it continues. Absolutely enormous, the main chamber is more than four hundred feet from floor to ceiling, and nearly a mile across. An observation deck surrounds the elevator shaft at the top of the chamber, and has it's own elevator to the upper level for safety (personnel only, no Zoids, too small). At the base of the shaft, when the lift sinks fully into the ground in the center of the chamber, the true purpose of the facility is quite clear. Anyone here would be surrounded by artificial landscapes, including prop buildings, sand pits, rocky terrain, a lake and river (artificial and artificially maintained), cliffs, slopes, and uneven levels. Craters, scorch marks, and glassed trenches are all testaments to the weapons testing and research that went on down here. Small, fortified hangars down here allow faster inspection of equipment and Zoids, quick repairs, switching out of test units and control units, etc. The walls and ceiling used to sport a wide variety of sensors and data recording devices, all long since gone, but a number of cameras have been installed to allow any interested parties to watch what was going on down below.

Owned by Ian Constance's family, purchased after the end of the war and the base was declassified and decommissioned, the Constance family (owning a small weapons and munitions development and manufacture business) took immediate interest in the facility. Ian usually stays there with some workers and occasionally his younger sister or parents will join him. When the family comes, they usually use the lower levels for testing their privately developed weapons, or for demonstrating them. Otherwise, Ian runs The Proving Grounds and uses the lower levels to practice with his Descat. Visiting pilots are permitted, if they wish, to use the lower level for Zoid battles. Although a little small, the variety of terrain can make things interesting and with the observation room and cameras, friends can watch the action from safety.

Bam! Here's your base: http://z7.invisionfree.com/GZ_RPG_Etern ... wforum=441

You're a mod there so you can pin/unpin things, etc. Any questions, as always, ask! :D

*goes to rearrange all the bases again so they're in alpha order*
