That has some promise. The motion of the Jaegers look a lot more like how robots in anime move, a lot more fluid than the last movie it gonna make for some really bad ass action scenes :D

Will the hot Japanese girl from the previous movie return too or is this an all new cast?

John Boyega is taking the lead on this one it seems

Single pilots, slapping 2.0 onto the names of Gypsy weapons, trying too hard to make the jeagers seem cool.
Dunno about this one. Seems to lack any Del Toro charm.

In one image that I saw online with the new trailer, there was a side shot of the Robot Spirits figures. That showed a potential High Grade model kit of the Gipsy Avenger from Bandai.

Edit: Finally found a good photo.

I still love how the fight scenes look, but the BGM is both annoying and repetitive
I think I saw some Kaijus wearing jaeger armour in there too :D

Just saw it, If you go for the Giant robots, I think you'll be quite pleased with it.
That said the plot feels quite lacking, still better than Bayformers but that's not really high praise.

I saw it last night and my fears of the dodgy CGI were nicely quelled. It's no Pacific Rim 1, but then it didn't really ever advertise itself as such. It's a lower class of movie, but it still scratches that itch that no other movie can.

...and it's certainly no Bayformers, which is always good.

Just saw it last night, definitely a strong emphasis on jaeger vs jaeger combat, which made the movie feel shorter than it actually was... not sure why. I enjoyed it, but I have to agree that it didn't feel quite as cohesive as the original, it didn't have that same momentum and sense of worldbuilding. And the music was l a m e in comparison to the original, too. But not as bad as I was expecting it to be. I thought it was going to be awful, but it ended up being competent and fun.
Look at you. You're reading about Gundams, when you could be reading about Gundams and a whole bunch of other crazy stuff.
Paradox Fighters. It's like Skyrim with Guns.

I certainly did. They made an otherwise underwhelming sequence pretty darn enjoyable. I took the nephews to see it and they likewise started flipping out when they realized.
[+] Spoiler
One of them suggested that after the new Jaegers are wrecked, they should have pulled the refurbished old ones out of storage, continuity and logistics be damned.

The other suggested that they fight Godzilla, and that there be a "Godzilla Jaeger." A sort of mechanized Godzilla, if you will.

I've instilled in them some good goddamn sensibilities.

This awesome anime version of the poster by Masami Obari represents the movie we should have gotten, dammit!
