First of all, we all at GSP Rescue (SW) wish you all a Happy and Prosperous 2012 :)

2011 proved to be our busiest year yet, and here are a few statistics for you:-

99 dogs offered for rehoming

50 surrendered from UK homes
38 taken in from Ireland
6 taken from UK pounds
5 taken from Europe

More dogs were fostered this year than ever before ...... 17 this year

Of those most were only in foster for a week or 2, although 4 did stay in foster for several months, but all eventually found new and loving homes

Over 450 new familes registered an interest in adopting a GSP during 2011

Many other families were given advice about their GSPs, which resolved possible issues and enabled them to keep their dogs - that aspect of the rescue work is very rewarding - but very time-consuming too

I'd also like to thank my own dogs for their patience over the past year. They have put up with 10 different foster dogs staying here (including a foster dog from another rescue! ). They were great with all of them - even when I had 3 foster dogs here at once, and on two other occasions, two at once. Some only stayed a week or two, but others like Piper, Sheba and Jody shared our home for several months. In fact I think we only had about 2 months in the past year when there was only my 3 dogs here! So they really were stars ......

To finish this brief summay, may I send thanks to all of those who have helped with the rescue over the past year - whether it be helping me with administration; fund-raising; fostering; etc. and most of all to those who have offered a new home to one of our dogs.

Dawn on the beach yesterday, 31st December 2011 - what a lovely morning to see the old year out. :)

Thank you all.

The total amount which has been raised for GSP Rescue (SW) from the sales of our 2013 calendar, Christmas cards and merchandise is £2575.74p

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who made donations and purchased the items we had available.

Also special thanks to Amanda from www.petpawtraits.co.uk who kindly donated the Christmas card design again this year.

First of all, we all at GSP Rescue (SW) wish you all a Happy and Prosperous 2013 :)

2012 proved to be our busiest year yet, and here are a few statistics for you:-

105 dogs offered for rehoming

65 surrendered from UK homes
21 adults taken in from Ireland (+ 9 'stowaway' puppies!)
2 taken from UK pounds
8 taken from Europe

More dogs were fostered this year than ever before ...... 18 adults this year (+Chloe's 9 puppies)

Of those most were only in foster for a week or 2, apart from Chloe and the puppies, who took up 4 months of foster space with Sarah. All eventually found new and loving homes

Over 320 new familes registered an interest in adopting a GSP during 2012

Many other families were given advice about their GSPs, which resolved possible issues and enabled them to keep their dogs - that aspect of the rescue work is very rewarding - but very time-consuming too

Once again I'd also like to thank my own dogs for their patience over the past year. Particular mention needs to be made of having Chloe and her 9 puppies living with us for almost 4 months, which was a trial for us all, but the girls were brilliant. They had to put up with their routine being completely disrupted; their house access being limited; and then having to share with 10 strangers - most of whom had no manners what so ever!!! They were great with all of them......

Thank you all.
