Jill Stein was on Tavis Smilely of PBS TV stations on Nov 1 & Nov 2, i think; she was debating Gary Johnson during both times, and at the end of the 1st debate, Gary Johnson looked nervous like he had lost that debate to Jill Stein, and i'm not sure if her campaign website and Facebook webpage were updated before those 2 debates occurred to tell persons planning to vote or persons being encouraged to vote to watch those 2 debates

Jill didn't win the Presidency in 2016, though i think she got about 2% to 7% in some states; she's now calling and raising money for 3 recounts of popular votes of 3 states, and if she's claiming that Hillary Clinton would win those 3 states, then why does Jill call for those 3 recounts when Jill negatively criticized Hillary at that CNN town hall meeting?

The national media have gone crazy with misrepresenting the recount efforts. Both Stein and Johnson underperformed their polling numbers. Stein and many Greens want all the votes counted and verified. In Wisconsin, there were votes for Stein that were credited to Clinton. A lot of tampering with ballot boxes has been found in Michigan.

La Roque also requested a recount in WI, I think, and in NV. A different group requested one in FL. Candidates are not allowed to request recounts in FL. In WI and MI, candidates are the only ones who are allowed to request recounts. Laws vary from state to state.

why get the impression that Jill Stein and Gary Johnson underperformed their polling numbers and not overperformed their polling numbers?

Because they received less than the percentages of votes that were predicted by the polls prior to election day.
