Very new to GoPro. Just bought a GoPro 5 Black 3 days ago. I bristle when Quick suggest so many Reminders and Weekly Movies. I already feel they are too intrusive. Can't I just use iMovie or does Quick offer more? Is Quick the best option for editing?

You can use every videoeditor- Quick is for beginners and makes good results in very short time.
If you want go deeper you should use a real editor then you can set all parameters and also change contrast, color and so on.

Firmly agree with Jatekman; I use Premiere Elements myself as it came along with PS Elements 15 back when I upgraded to it (good price!).  I don't have any of the GoPro software installed on my system for the same reason you were wary of it--very intrusive.

I started with Magix it's an good easy to handle system and can be upgraded to a powerful system- you can try free for a month.

I was on my out the door to an appointment and so had no time to look at Jatekman's channel beyond watching the trailer; I will most definitely be back and I highly recommend anyone seriously interested in video editing to go there and take a look.  I have a strong hunch you won't be disappointed.

Thanx for your kind words!
If you look first older vids and go forward you can see how things geting better and better every time.
Because I am racing fan my favorites are RACING and Spa TRACKDAY.
The vids with the most "tricks/effects" are sure Red Dream I and II, DREAMZ and MotorSHOW- for nature lovers Flow and COLORS.
Anyway enjoy and have fun.
