Registered to thank you and this awesome dude evilwombat.I had almost given up on my GoPro Hero 4. Literally tried every solution from the go pro support and accidentally stumbled upon this. It worked perfectly. GoPro should hire this guy but I think its in their interest to have some go pros die once in a while so people can buy new ones. Thank you so so much !<3

Hello guys,

I'm in front of a big wall...

The 130 Mb file don't fit : "not enough space in MTD device" like some guys.

The respond is to truncate more te file. OK, you've uploaded a 80 Mb file... but is still delted from dropbox and can't be found.

Can anybody share this file "h3b-more-truncated-nanddump" ?

I think, I'm near to the goal !

Hello guys,
I'm trying to rescue a bricked gopro hero 3 black edition using the descriptions as shown in this thread. I managed it to get it to the point where the red light flashes. whether I disconnect the usb cable or not makes no difference. First there appears the camera symbol on the display with version info 3.00, as if the gopro was regulary on. If I push some buttons nothing happens except one beep on the first push of the power button. After some time the display goes off and the red light on the front on. No reaction to any Buttons or something. If I check the sdcard afterwards nothing has changed. I tried with the latest suggestion of the version problem thing around page 6 in this thread in the autoexec. Noting changed on the Card, no log written.
Here is what I get in the cmd window when booting the gopro over usb. As you can see some errors occur. Is there still hope? Any suggestions? Or just throw it away and buy some other action cam?

Code: Select all

C:\GPBoot>gpboot.exe --h3b-rtos h3b-v300-rtos-patched.bin
evilwombat's gopro boot thingy v0.12

Well folks I'm going through the same problem with my Gopro Hero 3.

I managed to reach the part that

/ # nc -l -p 2389 | nadwrite -p / dev / mtd0
Writing at 0x00000000
nandwrite: not enough space in MTD devide

I tried to download the
h3b-more-truncated-nanddump but this link is corrupted. Can someone put it back?
