Handy info here;

Further to this info, for those of you who have gone out and bought a GMC Briggs & Stratton (Chinese) lawnmower, generator etc there is something to be aware of.
If your machine fails to start and you do the usual checks and find there is no spark there is something to try before you take it too a dealer for repair or dump it.
Usually there is a molded plastic plug on the end of the spark plug lead.
Using a hacksaw carefully cut the molded plastic and you will find the lead has another spark plug adaptor hidden under the plastic plugged into a fusible link.
If you check the fusible link you will probably find there is no continuity so throw it away and plug the adaptor you have found, moulded under the plastic, directly onto the spark plug and a few pulls and your machine will be again running.
Clever little buggers these Chinese, built in failures to send us out to spend more money at a repair centre or buy a new machine.
Matter of interest the part alone, if you were to replace it yourself is $145.00.

Cheers

Good luck & safe travels

Recently brought a lawn mower back to life, using the method described previously.
