Right I could be getting my mums Corsa 2004 1.3 CDTi so as its a turbo and I really want a dump valve might as well do it. Know the performance isnt much but the sound would be cool

Does anyone know where I can get one from? And no I am not getting an electronic one just for the sound. I would like a it of performance but mum would go mad as I think she is planning to stil use it for her spare driving school car, but that wouldnt be that often hehe

Thanks

Sez x

A few years back my friend had a cavalier diesel turbo. We searched absolutly everywhere, magazines, garages, tuning companies etc etc etc. We came to the conclusion (as far as we were aware) that they don't exist and probably never will.

As I said that was about 5years ago, so they maybe out there now, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

That whoosh or flutter sound is awesome though, I'd love one for my car but I dont have £3k-£5k for a turbo conversion :( I have pondered the idea about an electronic one but don't know if the are any good or how they work.

good luck anyway :D

ive done it, there is no performance gain as diesel engines have no throttle plate and its a bastard to do because they also dont vacuum, but if you get the bits ill do it for you, you need a bailey DV-26D and a custom made T piece, some silicon boost hose and a microswitch, and a vacuum line solenoid

derv doctor only make them for 306's with XU engines, I take it your mums corsa is not mechanical injection !

so you may be better off getting one of the piggy back systems that runs off the ECU, I did a guide on how to do it on here, if you read it and dont understand it then dont try it. it isnt a simple thing to do, theres a lot more factors than fitting to a petrol engine

Diesel engines don't have dump valves..... they don't work the same way as Petrols do..... thats why you can't find them ;)
