I love Fullmetal Alchemist and Yu Yu Hakusho. I think Ed is hot and I love Al (the Tin Man). And in YYH, I love Yoko/Kurama and Hiei. Those guys are so kick-ass.

I used to love Inuyasha and RuroKen till I saw that neither of them were ended properly. I also liked YuGiOh till I read the manga and saw how butchered the story was in the anime.

Ahhh Fullmetal Alchemist. I heard great things about it, so I was really looking forward to seeing it... Unfortunately it went to Animax (Brazil). Which is actually pretty good. It's a channel that shows the highest quality anime 24/7. And every show is completely uncut. The only problem is that every show is in Portuguese... And I really can't stand it. I've been trying to get into FMA but the horrible dub won't allow me...

I've also heard great things about Samurai Champloo. I'm really looking forward to it. I just hope it goes to CN...

I also used to watch Inuyasha! Kagome is seriously hot IMO. I was never to interested in anime until RuroKen came along. But I started off by watching Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon, Pokemon and Gundam Wing. And with all do respect to those fans, I didn't like any of them... I mean I'm sure they are good anime, but I was looking for something intellectually realistic. Or just itellectual. lol And thats when RK came along... The story/plot lines are some of the brightest among anime. Very well thought IMO. From there I started reading reviews and moved on to Cowboy Bepop and Evangelion. Excellent anime! But they didn't move me nearly the way RK did...

Yu Yu Hakusho was translated directly from the Japanese version, so it was only available in the *you know what language* lol. So I couldn't watch it. I don't know what it is, but I just hate the Portuguese language. Strange I know... I think I'm the only one.

I enjoyed Yu-Gi-Oh to some extent. But I haven't watched it in a while...

Why do you hate the official language of your country, if you don't mind my asking? I couldn't imagine myself hating English.

Or is it just that the Portuguese dubs are that bad?

I just think Portuguese sounds ugly. It's very rough and slugish compared to Spanish. There is a remarkable similarity between the two... And Spanish is not only smoother and quicker, but sounds alot better IMO. Thus far English is my prefered language.

The dubs aren't too bad for the most part. The translations are great with superfluous dialogue, but the voice acting is at times very frustrating...

Interesting. Well, I'd love to learn Japanese. The more I study it, the more I realize how beautiful and poetic it is. They use symbols and concepts instead of concrete words to describe things. Like a boomerang isn't just a boomerang. The word for "boomerang" is the symbol for "come flying".

Dubs are just crap. The worst dubbed anime I ever came across was Shaman King. I was about to give up on it for good, but I downloaded the Japanese version on my good computer and watched it. It was so cool with all the good stuff left in. The voices were so much better. So I watched the whole thing and enjoyed it.

Yes Japanese is indeed very poetic. Which is most of what makes it so difficult to learn...

I've considered learning Japanese for the sole purpose of watching anime properly. But I'm also required to learn French. In total that would be 5 languages... And I seriously doubt I have the capacity...

Learn Japanese on your own time. You can look up all kinds of Japanese lessons online. You can buy books and tapes, etc. The best thing to do really is download fansubbed anime and just watch them. You'll start to pick out words and phrases. Another thing you can do is read fanfics that use Japanese terms and phrases and have a glossary at the back. You can also keep a list of Japanese words and phrases that you learn. I have a huge TXT file of all the Japanese I've picked up. If you'd like, I can PM the text of it to you to study.
