Groundbreaking: Six Weeks To Cashmere Skate Park
Cashmere, Washington USA -- 06/23/2016
Cashmere will finally have its skate park, slated for use on Aug. 1 of this year.
The two lowest bids each came in at $150,000. Cashmere's skate park committee
reviewed the design concepts and chose the design created by Evergreen Skateparks
based out of Portland, Oregon. It will be constructed at the far east end of what has
been a grassy picnic and barbecue area, at Riverfront Park downstream from the bike
The skate park features include: a bowl pocket with curb coping, a pump bump, a
pole jam, two pyramids, a round flat bar and a ledge. The project is a budgeted item
and is part of the overall Riverside Park improvement project and is partially paid for
by the $249,925 State Recreation Conservation Grant awarded to the city of
Cashmere in July of 2015.
In addition to the skate park,
a new restroom and playground will also be added at that end of the park.
