"House M.D." Season Six Spoilers

• July 30, 2009 (2nd) - Orlando Sentinel reports:
"Fox's "House" had lined up James Earl Jones as a guest star. He plays an African dictator who becomes a patient at Princeton-Plainsboro. The installment will air in the fall. The series starts its new season Sept. 21 with a two-hour episode.

"Fox isn't saying a lot more. But imagine Jones and Hugh Laurie getting into arguments. The show could be a scorcher."
(Note: "tobiatoo" on the Television Without Pity's House Forum guesses "this relates to the African soccer star casting call posted earlier.")
• July 30, 2009 (1st) - eOnline's Krisitin interviews David Shore (from July 16):
"Season six is underway, and Shore told us all about what to expect when the series returns on Sept. 21 to Fox. According to Shore: 'We're starting the season with a two-hour House movie directed by [executive producer] Katie Jacobs‹it's going to be great. Those two hours take place basically exclusively within the institution.'"

* "Said Shore, 'I think that he's incredibly self-aware, but he has many masters, internally, that he has to serve.'"
* "Then, once House makes his way home again, Shore said, '...we're following up on House getting his license back.'"
* "But that transition is not going to be easy. According to Shore, 'We want to be honest about this; we want to follow through on what happens to House in an honest way.'"

• July 22, 2009 - Spoiler TV has posted a casting call for House:
For a one-armed man.
(One laughingly wonders if House is going on the run as per the old TV show "The Fugitive" where the hero was looking for the one-armed man who could clear him from the crime of killing his wife.)
• July 17, 2009 (2nd) - Info from Sixth Season Premiere:
Including picture of House with close cropped hair and video promo.
• July 17, 2009 (1st) - Ask Ausiellio:
Question: "We haven't heard anything new on House for a while. Can you give us something nice and juicy? — Mariel"
Ausiello: "Not sure if this is juicy but it's definitely nice: I think House and his asylum mates are going on a field trip to an amusement park in the two-hour opener. According to a completely sane insider, the show shot scenes on location at Universal Studios last week. I'm told House was working the Skydiving Fan. Whatever that is."
• July 8, 2009 (2nd) - Video Interview with Robert Sean Leonard:
About Wilson's relationship with House and whether he's been able to move on from losing Amber or not.
• July 8, 2009 (1st) - Ask Ausiellio:
Question: "Will House recover from whatever it is that landed him in the psycho ward? — Catherine"
Ausiello: "You mean will he stop being crazy? 'No,' says Robert Sean Leonard. 'It would be like Quincy suddenly getting nice and loving examining dead bodies. There are certain things that are just givens about the show, and one is the general makeup of House¹s attitude and personality. He may stop hallucinating but he¹d never stop being sarcastic.' Adds series creator David Shore: 'It depends on how we define better. That is the question. How sick is he? Does House want to get better? Can he get better? And how much better? And how much will the team be told and how will the dynamic shift with House away? Those are the questions we are going to deal with in the first bunch of episodes, and perhaps even the whole season to a certain extent.'"

• July 1, 2009 (2nd) - Spoiler TV:
Video interview with Hugh Laurie where he talks about aspects of the first episode of season 6.
• July 1, 2009 (1st) - Watch With Kristin of eOnline:
Martin in Hackensack, N.J.: Any word on who will be in charge while House is in the mental institution?
Executive producer David Shore tells us, "We are going to have some fun with who is going to be running the diagnostics department. We're not bringing in anyone new right now, so it's going to be somebody you know."
See the above link for slight information on trouble ahead for Foreteen and from Lisa Edlestein on what she hopes to see ahead.
• June 25, 2009 (2nd) - Ask Ausiellio:
Question: "Why should non-Huddy fans tune into House next season? — Luke"
Ausiello: "Because the Princeton Plainsboro that House left in the season finale will not be the same one he returns to next fall. And admit it, you're dying to know how it'll be different. 'How [the hospital] works when he comes back will be different," teases exec producer Katie Jacobs. "A doctor can't check into a mental institution and just walk back into his job like nothing happened. We will not start forsaking reality. This [story] will have consequences.'"

• June 25, 2009 (1st) - From Spoiler TV:

* From E!Online's Watch with Kristin: "House executive producer David Shore says it's too early in the season to know if they're going to be introducing new characters. He says, 'We don't have any plans on that. As we get closer to the end of the year we might, but I don't think we've mined everything we can with the six fellows we've had there.'"
There is more.
* New Season 6 Casting Calls (editor's summary - seems to be a story coming up about people associated with an African nation's soccor team)

• June 22, 2009 - Ask Ausiellio:
Question: "Obviously the main focus of the House premiere will be House in the 'loony bin.' But what will the rest of the cast be up to? — Rachel"
Ausiello: "Enjoying the rest of their vacation. No joke. I'm told the two-hour One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest-inspired season premiere will feature only two of the show's main players: House and Wilson. Everyone else will show up the following week. 'It is a bold move,' Hugh Laurie acknowledged to EW at last night's Paley Center for Media event, Creating Great Characters. 'We are moving into our sixth year and I suppose the writers felt that we couldn't just reprise the same stories, the same sets, the same look, the same problems. We needed to go on an adventure, and this is it.'"
• June 21, 2009 - Latest from TV Guide Magazine "the show¹s cast and creators gathered June 17 at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills to take part in a panel discussion titled ³The Creative Process: Inside House.² Here's what they told TV Guide Magazine":

* "Executive producer David Shore said the Sept. 21 premiere episode will take place entirely within the mental institution where Dr. House landed at the end of last season."
* "Laurie says he's excited to work with Braugher. 'I have admired him as one of the greatest actors there is'"
* "The premiere will be directed by executive producer Katie Jacobs, who will shoot exterior footage at the same institution in New Jersey that was seen in last season¹s closing moments."
* "Admitting that he neglected Cameron (Jennifer Morrison) and Chase (Jesse Spencer) over the past two seasons, Shore adds, "We actually have some very cool stuff coming up for them‹not right out of the gate, but pretty early on." There may however be a bit less of Olivia Wilde (Thirteen), what with the actress also shooting Disney's Tron remake."

• June 19, 2009 - Zap2It: "Andre Braugher makes a 'House' call" by Rick Porter:
"Who do you get to diagnose what's going on inside Dr. Greg House's head? Someone formidable, someone who's just as smart and quick on his feet as House is.

"Someone like ... Andre Braugher.

"The Emmy-winning former star of 'Homicide' and 'Gideon's Crossing' -- where he worked with 'House' executive producer Katie Jacobs -- will guest on the two-hour season premiere of 'House,' the show's producers revealed at a Paley Center for Media event Wednesday night."

August 10th, 2009, 5:01 pm #3 ... -old-jobs/

It’s the news Cameron and Chase fans have longed to hear: After two years spent mostly on the sidelines, Jennifer Morrison and Jesse Spencer will be back in the trenches on House this season.

“They are both thrown back into their old jobs,” Morrison told us at last night’s Teen Choice Awards. “It’s been great actually. I have been working a lot and there are things that happen to House very early in the season that have a domino effect on all of the other characters.”

Those “things” involve a shake-up at Princeton Plainsboro that finds Foreman filling in for an ailing House as the hospital’s top doc. The transition is rocky to say the least. “Cameron was always very close and protective of House,” she says. “And to have her mentor be away in an asylum makes her contemplate life and career and him. Having him gone affects everyone he works with, personally and professionally.”

Further complicating matters will be Cameron and Chase’s status as newlyweds. “This season starts a few months from where we left off last season in the finale and Chase and Cameron are finding their groove as a married couple,” reveals Morrison, who hints at some friction now that they’re working alongside each other again. “That might put some strain on the marriage.

“They’re taking things up a notch [this season],” Morrison continues. “I think the audience will be able to enjoy seeing new things from all of us.”
