Hey! Nice to hear about the Release after many years of hard work. It was my pleasure to work with the tank textures. I am happy that my art in this unique project was helpful.

I would love to test the Mod, but where I could get Arma 1 digital download? Haven't bought games for years from Internet and don't know for sure which would be the best way...

Shining Spring for everyone 8-)

Steam would be the best bet.

You can get the Steam version from the BI store. There's actually a sale at the moment:

Wow thanks! That worked very well for me and I was able to test the mod. Don't like Steam very much though.

Very good job guys! I was able to test the Mod and I am impressed besides of the bugs which are understandable in Alpha release. FWW2 is better than the basic ArmA 1 and 2 which sucks I think b/c they are way too difficult games. OFP together with the myriad of mods was much better experience.

FWW2 reminds me of those moments. Especially I loved the overall feeling and the small visual wintery details here and there (soldiers sinking into the snow etc) to make the mod feel more like winter, the realistic kasapanos and everything.

Additionally as an artist I could not resist to play with the screenshots. Here's a rapid one with my kind suggestion to the snow texture. I think the glitter on snow is a small yet fascinating visual detail which could make the Mod to look even more wintery + it would be quite fast and easy thing to do to every texture which has some snow / frost in it.

More screenshots coming later...

So you went and wasted money on an old game to play some unfinished alpha mod.
Craziness :D

Nice pic though.
I wish the engine would support something like that..

The basic ground texture probably could be made shinier but the snow 'bumps' on the ground are clutter and have none of the shader texture stuff that is available on everything else in the game.

Only about 8 euros for such craziness :) Today's games are nothing. This has some good potential in it and it looks very good. Hope to see more missions someday. I don't care about bugs if the the mod is still playable with exciting missions.

So, it is about the pixel shader thing then regarding the snow glitter effect. I try to post more screenshots about the tanks in the sun. Love the effect in that!

I recall that we attempted to simulate same effect, but ground texture didn't support specular map, only ambient map. Thus it couldn't be achieved with ArmA engine.

However that is just how I remember it, might be that I forgot to do it or failed miserably on it.
