I'm selling my Fugitive 2.
Described by Steve Hole of Total Kit Car as the best Fugitive he'd ever seen.
The 6 year build was fully documented in Complete Kitcar Magazine.
The car has covered less than 4000 miles since a complete bare chassis rebuild.
The basic specification is
Chassis: - Original UVA chassis blasted and Plas (nylon) coated.
Front suspension: - Fully rebuilt VW Beetle ball joint beam with 2.5 dropped spindles and Sway-A-Way height adjusters for fine adjustment. Spax adjustable dampers.
Rear suspension: - Fully rebuilt VW Beetle trailing arm IRS lowered 2" on the torsion bar splines. Spax adjustable dampers.
Bodywork: - All brand new GRP panels made in new moulds from original UVA panels. Pearl white vinyl wrap with computer cut stripes and graphics. Unique engine enclosure panels. New seat shells also produced in moulds from original UVA seats. Upholstery by Interiors Seating.
Engine: - Exchange Type 1 1600 twin port VW Beetle engine using a MegaSquirt 2 controller for injection and ignition. After market oil pump incorporating a screw-on canister filter.
Gearbox: - 1300 Type 1 Saloon/Cabriolet IRS gearbox converted to hydraulic clutch operation. CSP trigger shifter.
Wheels and tyres: - Period Wolfrace Slot Mags.
Front - 6J x 15 with 175/65 x 15 tyres.
Rear - 7J x 15 with 235/60 x 15 tyres.
Steering: - Standard VW steering box with a hybrid Cavalier/Astra/Mini steering column.
Brakes: - Discs all round.
Front Standard VW Beetle discs (post 1968)
Rear - Porsche 924/944 vented disc brakes.
Adjustable bias twin master cylinder pedal box.
Lighting: - Projector headlights with LED sidelights, rear lights and indicators.
Instruments: - Koso digital dashboard incorporating all the standard functions. Battery cut off switch.
Additional: - Custom made alloy fuel tank. Plumbed in fire system with cable operation. Quick release steering wheel.
