I know a lot of people say to start with a small game to build your skillset. Well, as a novelist, that really isn't my style. I started with storyboard, and remembered a novel I scrapped a long time ago because of waning interest. It had a lot of things that made it undeniably like a video game, so I figured, why the heck not?

So yeah, I decided to go with that. And the story is pretty big, but that makes it more fun for me. This may be my first game, but I've got a lot more experience writing, and I decided I'd make good on that.

The plot should be somewhat obvious from the title, so I won't say much about it. The setting is an alternate universe, specifically a North America-sized continent in the southern hemisphere of that world. There will be magic, but mostly the kind you get from magical weapons.

Now, for what a lot of you are probably reading for: is this game ABDL? The answer is sort of. It's going to be in there, but it won't be the major focus, since the plot comes from a non-ABDL action novel I started and never finished.

Keep in mind that I just got RPGMaker MV a month back, and have never worked with any other version of it before for longer than a day or two (free trials FTW). It should go without saying that it'll be incredibly buggy at first, and won't be complete for a long time.

2/1/16: The fix for levelling up the legendary blades has been implemented. I shared this one on page fifteen but forgot to share it on this post, so here it is. When Sept is level eight, sleep at the inn in the Earth Kingdom for the Sword of Sound to level up to its next form.

If you guys want, I can get a Mac version for those that use the bitten apple platform. Depends mostly on what you guys say about it, though.

Expected next update release date: Mid to late March

2/19/16: I changed the due date because mid February is pretty much over with and I haven't gotten jack shit done since my last post. Hopefully I'll be able to work on it this weekend, but considering I'll be with both of my siblings, I doubt it.

Okay, so the good news is I'm pretty far in on mapping out the areas for the demo. The first town, a kingdom, has been mapped out almost entirely, with the only thing left being the castle.

The bad-ish news is that I still have to add a bunch of other stuff before it's release ready, such as town NPCs, merchant NPCs, and the maps for both the castle and first dungeon. On top of that, I also have to get started working on the monsters, and a boss for the dungeon. It will likely be at least two weeks before I can get anything substantial released.

I plan to focus on the first dungeon before the castle, despite how the castle pops up literally first thing. I just really don't feel like dealing with that right now, and if I complete the dungeon first, that means the first demo will have more for you to play when it gets released.

A considerable amount of mapping later (not done yet, but I'm burnt out for the moment), and I've switched focus to getting items and equipment fleshed out. So I've got a bunch of equipment already, with the two that stand out most being, of course, the two thus-far-created legendary blades.

I gave the Blade of Sound a semi-rounded approach, with base stats of attack + 25, magic attack + 10, and agility + 15. The level six form, which will replace it when the player reaches level six, has considerably increased stats, adding ten to each of the original three categories. The level twelve one does something similar.

The Blade of Fire, which I intend to be a berserker weapon, may be slightly broken. It adds thirty to both attack and magic attack in base form, but also subtracts five from both defense and magic defense. Its level nine form ups the additions to 55 each, but also ups the subtractions to 15 each. The point of this weapon is to make the main character, who dual wields these two weapons, a glass cannon. She hits fast and hard, but can't take more than a few hits.

Not sure if these stats are too broken or not, so I figured I'd post them and get critique. For those wondering, only the Blade of Sound will appear in the initial demo, with the Blade of Fire being in the first major update.

Anyway, as for map progress, I've mapped out the whole starting kingdom minus the castle's interior. I've also mapped the first area with monsters, which leads up to the first dungeon, the exterior of which has also been mapped. Just two things left (the castle and first dungeon) before I can get onto putting characters in.

Also, I've already set up all the transfer point events to connect the maps. So that's pretty much done.

Finally, a question. How would I make it so that when these specific weapons are equipped, certain skills are unlocked for the player? For example, when the main character equips the Blade of Sound, she is supposed to gain the skill Sonic Drive. How would I go about setting that up?

And in response to the comment about rushing: I'm not rushing, I just have a lot more free time than most people. I don't work yet, and I don't go to school (GED prep, technically) more than nine hours in a whole week (three hours daily Monday through Wednesday), so I can dedicate about ten of my sixteen waking hours a day to working on this. That number jumps to thirteen on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and sometimes Sunday. It's just a matter of being able to sit still for long periods of time, really. And if I have to get up, it's usually to get something to eat while I'm working on the game/my novels.

As I will probably be asleep in an hour or so, here's a list of the things I've got done.

- Finished mapping out the accessible castle, with transfer events set up for walking through it.
- Added 2 NPC guards to the castle gates
- Added events for things in the forest
- Added two treasure chests in the forest
- Finished with making equipment, including panties, pull-ups and diapers
- Started on the first dungeon
- Removed the rather annoying door knock SFX from all the transfer events that don't actually use doors

And here's a list of the things I'll need to do before I can release a demo.

- Add more NPCs.
- Add merchants and an innkeeper to first kingdom's town
- Add events for a bunch of objects in the castle
- Finish mapping out and setting events for the first dungeon
- Obtain and implement a working potty script
- Find a way to get toilet tiles into the game
- Create more monsters for better variety
- Find a way to create a boss that looks like the player, but in grayscale

I'm just about done for the night (even though it's morning as I say this). Although I will ask: does anyone know how to make an event that would make a stairway to the next room appear on the map in place of another object? That's what I'll have to do to continue in the first dungeon.

Because I seem to be making updates pretty much bi-daily, here's another one. Today, I've done this so far:

- Finished mapping out the dungeon and setting up all the transfer events
- Finished with setting mobs in each dungeon map
- Added a bunch of treasure chests to the dungeon's middle two maps
- Set up a few basic skills for the two starting characters

Things I still need to do before I can release a demo:
- Add NPCs
- Add merchants and an inkeeper
- Add events for objects in the castle
- Finish the end-dungeon event that precedes the boss battle
- Design a boss that looks and behaves like the player
- Obtain and implement working potty script
- incorporate toilets

Here's another progress update, since I'm actually pretty close to being able to release the first demo.

What I've done since yesterday:
- Made a bunch more equipment, including a rare drop from the first boss - if you don't get it, it won't be available anywhere else!
- Tweaked a few skills
- Set up the level system for the first legendary blade
- Added a few NPCs
- Added every necessary merchant and set up their sell list
- Created the third party member, even though she won't be introduced until update two
- Added events for objects in the inn
- Created a boss that looks like the main character, though the white background is annoying

What I'll need to do before I can release a demo:
- Add more NPCs to the inn and castle
- Add events to objects in the castle
- Obtain and implement working potty script - still waiting on CS for this one, though if I finish with everything else first, I'll probably just try my hand at making my own
- Incorporate toilets into the game

As you can see, I've come pretty far in a few days. This is the power of being able to work on a game ten hours a day! Anyway, The demo will likely be out in less than a week, all things considered.

I'm pleased to announce that, sans implementing the potty script and toilets, the demo is ready for release! I'll probably wait until tomorrow afternoon (when I'll wake up) before trying my hand at creating a potty script. If CS can get one out with the RPGMaker MV ABDL toolkit before then, I'll use his, but if not, I'll be in need of a tutorial.

So yeah, let's hope I can get the demo released as soon as possible!
