That some Canadian built trucks used the FE through early 80's

Hmmm interesting...

I live here in Canada and been wrenching on Fords for as long as I can remember... 50+ years... and I have never seen a 390, or any FE, in any truck after 1976.

Not saying it couldn't be...... just sayin' that after 30+ years of making my living as a automotive tech I have not seen one.

... and what about that 2 bolt starter?

Hmmm, U-Haul... that could be...

...but the trans shop I worked at thru the 80's and early 90's had the contract for a local U-Haul dealer, and we fixed many of their trucks.

Lots of C6's behind diesels, and the gas units all had 460's. Not many gas units tho... U-Haul really liked to use the diesel.

Sorry, I'm not trying to be difficult here, I just question the existence of the FE past 1976 since it doesn't jive with my experience.

Obviously, I could not possibly have seen EVERY truck ever made in Canada... and if there were indeed some built past 76 with the FE it would be interesting to find such a beast.

I'm willing to admit to being wrong...
