These two tools are pretty dang important in my book.
The compressor you might be able to do without if you are crafty - and the load tool is cheap for what it does, it is PITA without it.

If you are only doing E4OD's occasionally just make a compressor.

I used a piece of 1/4 inch steel cut 2 notches in it to bolt it on. drill a hole in the center and weld a nut to it over the hole. you run a threaded rod through the nut . Make a second small bar to be a pusher and weld a nut to that that is bigger than the threaded rod you are using it is just there to center the rod and keep it from walking around. Weld a nut on the outer end of the rod so you can turn it with a ratchet. Make sure you use a long enough piece of threaded rod so it sticks past the front of the bellhousing. The rod needs to be at least half inch maybe 5/8

the big bar gets bolted in to the trans , the small one compresses the clutch spring when you turn the threaded rod in .

I made a rough one that bent but worked then later on I copied it more carefully and have used it the Mark 2 model about 5 times . If the steel you use isn't thick enough it will bow
