I was driving my 70 Torino the other day. Stopped at a intersection. Went to take off again, no forward movement in 1 2 or drive, only reverse. Had car towed home. I removed the pan and found metal shavings in it. I was told it could be the sprag in the converter or the sprag in the trans took a dump. What has happend??

Because you still have reverse, the converter is fine however, there's trash in the converter now. Overhaul time, no question.

Yes, I understand overhaul time. I am going to replace this unit with a fresh C6 that I have. Is there any sure way of cleaning out any trash that might be in the converter. I want to use it again.

Not practical compared to replacement cost.
