It hurts me to get rid of things.I love my stuff...no matter what it is. I don't think professional help would help me. I think I was born with it.
Crazy question.....what is your zodiac sign?
I know 3 Taurus' who are pack rats. Are you Taurus?

I have so much crap! I can not pitch anything without a bit of anxiety - I donate regularly to clothing drives, etc. and have a big pile for Salvation Army (including a twin mattress set) that I have to schedule for pick up. BUT, I still have so much stuff that it's overflowing into the spare bedroom and dining room. I've got boxes of stuff I moved to Houston in July 2005 that have not been unpacked. No room for it! But, I can't pitch it w/o going through EVERYTHING - usually twice before I decide to put it in the trash or donation pile...

And I am an Aries, BTW, although my moon is in Taurus. (Too much information, huh?) Several years we had to clean out the house and garage for the father and stepmother of all packrats. It took 6 days, and we filled 2 30-cu-yd dumpsters before we were through. Okie has had much greater success than I, but my progress is steady. I did put a box of favorite "outgrown" clothes in the attic, though, and now I think they may actually fit again. A rare occurrence.

My addiction is fabric, however, and don't believe Schatze when she says she is winning the race! I still need lots of work in that area.

I knew you were a Taurus. I'm April 30.
The hubby hates that I'm a pack rat.

I used to be worse. Moving across the country helped me clear out things I don't need. I just completely finshed cleaning my garage. The only problem I have is letting go of clothes. It feels so good to be getting organized without clutter.

I'm in the process of trying to sort today. I have the electricians coming tomorrow to change some fixtures, fix wiring, etc. and trying to get some crap out of the way. Losing battle. It's like playing musical boxes. I have a well-used hand truck that cuts down on the stacking and moving around trips.

However, I am the daughter of the late-King-of-the-packratters, my father.....and we're both Libras.

Go figure.

....and no comments from the JuJu Peanut Gallery who would be the pot calling the kettle black.

Capricorn, too. My dad was a Taurus and I won't forgive him for dying and not cleaning up his tool shed and attic.

I am horribly attached to my things and sentimental about them.

Also I have noticed I can toss out something I haven't used for years and within a short period find I have a use for it. What is that? Devine punishment for trying to go clean?

I can also remember where I used to keep something but not where I put it away recently.
