Hello, we're starting a new Virtual Air Force, and we're going to call it oldAirForce and/or oldNavy
It will focus on the airplanes and methods of the cold war, using FSX/P3D and TacPack. The point is not to log hours and fly routes, although that's a viable option for many people, but to re-learn the arts of aerial warfare, as known fifty years ago.
The issue is that of the many, many virtual Air Force organisations out there, (including naval orgs,) all fly modern. Nobody is utilising the awesome models of older planes for any meaningful purpose.
If anyone is interested in giving feedback from the ground up, you can join our Discord channel.
I'll post more here as we figure it out.
a quick update, if you haven't been bothered to look at the discord channel.
I'm negotiating with a web hosting partner at the moment for some pretty specialised coding that will make this all dead interesting.
Name change: Now "Air Force Classic"
Rather than the standard VAF approach, I'm going for more of an open framework, so that we can encourage lots of VAF within the system - all based in the 1970 period. I'm not sure if it will work yet, but marketing is key, I guess.
The first step is to sort out the flying training and mission structures for single and multi player - and that's getting underway. I'd like to have a closed site up and running in a week or two, maybe going to open beta before Christmas.
If you're interested - get in touch.
