On the welcome to the Flying Staions website you mention a possible Firefly project in 2012. As 2012 is almost over I must assume that the firefly project is delayed until 2013. Has the project started yest and do you have some progress shots to wet our appetites?

The progress shots for the Seafury help grow interest in that project on the web.

The Firefly has been on the back burner while we finish off the Buccaneer S2. Once that out of the way the plan is to work on the Phantom and Firefly, as the Firefly is to some extent a simpler aircraft to model I'd expect it to be released first, although obviously now at some point in 1st quarter 2013...

And another one. At this point the main stuff to do on the external model is the undercarriage, tailhook and external stores. After that it's on to the internals.

I see that you have started with the Firefly Mk1 (WW2 ).

Will you also be making a Mk 4,5 & 6 model with the radiators in the wings?

The later models were used in the 50's and are a better fit with the Sea Fury in my opinion.

I take it they're going to polish out the dents in the spinner! I think that will make it the only airworthy Mk1.

As with most projects the release date is moving right, probably to the first half of next year while I try and get various other things finished. To answer a question from about 8 months ago, yes there will be a 4/5/6, it seemed to make sense to start with the FR 1 and then convert that by changing the nose etc. as per the real thing.

Yes it will be the only air worthy mk1 but its only going to make 1 flight then it will be put to bed but the engine may be kept running not sure and for the spinner it's going to stay the way she is the old girl is done all its cosmetics to my knowledge just fine tunning the engine
I am planing in going to see her on Thursday if you need any referance shots let me know

I'd heard Shearwater do that with their exhibits, always nice to know what you see is an airworthy machine!

I think we're alright for shots at the moment, but if your Grandfather has any diagrams that explain how the wingfold works that'd be great! I've spent hours trying to figure out what angle the hinge is set at!!

Sorry, only just spotted your reply!

I think that's all for now, I've been on a bit of a break from aircraft modelling so things are slowly picking up at the moment as I get back into it and try and remind myself what I was doing!
