Sitting comfortably? Then I shall begin... [another of my ramblings!]

I'm a complete convert to P3D4. Many aren't yet. I like the idea of MP online flying (FS can be a lonely place, unless you can relate to AI somehow! Besides, many aircraft require more than one crewmember... Buccaneer, Firefly etc. spring to mind... plus people "sailing" ships is always good). This seems to be a bit of a Golden Age in FS (I think I'm quoting Froogle there!), with so many new sims released or in the works. What is needed is an MP system to unite all of them... and FScloud appears to be it!

Browsing around fscloud.net I saw that one can create one's own VA for MP flying IF you have 3+ members and some sort of VA website/forum. Soooo, I was wondering if there are 3+ people who read this forum regularly and would like to fly "classic" FAA (I'd guess WWII to the end of the Cold War?) online enough to sign up for such? If 3+ were interested would Skippy and the other FlyingStations team member allow some corner of this forum to be its "base" for chatting and timetabling online sessions?

If you think this a crazy idea then please shoot me down (I'll be the MiG-15 to your Sea Fury! )... but if you're genuinely interested please post a reply below...

Well I thought I'd give it a couple of weekends... but with absolutely no replies the silence is deafening! Message received loud and clear! ;)

I just saw this. I'd be interested, but time zones usually kill it for me.

Bugger, yes, time differences suck and I'm guessing they don't get much more different than ours!

'Tis a shame, as I'd be up for some Skyhawk action off Melbourne's deck (assuming that is your cup 'o' tea?)...

Yeah, pretty much. I like the Tracker too.

And Sea Furies off Sydney, obviously. Korean War anyone?

So, I'm playing with this idea, now, in a reasonably serious way.

We're going to call it oldAirForce and/or oldNavy

And it will be a new virtual air force, which focuses on the airplanes and methods of the cold war, using FSX/P3D and TacPack. The point is not to log hours and fly routes, although that's a viable option for many people, but to re-learn the arts of aerial warfare, as known fifty years ago.

The issue is that of the many, many virtual Air Force organisations out there, (including naval orgs,) all fly modern. Nobody is utilising the awesome models of older planes for any meaningful purpose.

If anyone is interested in giving feedback from the ground up, you can join our Discord channel.

If Skip wanted to give us a corner of the forums to use, I'd be pleased and proud to be affiliated with Flying Stations.

Mike,

I'll see if I can add a section of the forum for you, this may involve looking up some passwords I've forgotten...
Also that Discord invite didn't work for some reason.

Update!

So that was easy, new forum section here: VA Forum

We'll see how it goes, if necessary I think I can give the two of you moderator rights to it. Or accidentally delete the whole site, one of the two...

Thanks Skippy, I updated the discord link, and will start populating the forum space as we get ideas agreed.
