This really sucks

Haven't heard anything of substance really since Friday, I hope we know sooner than the deadline.

1)- The Preds don't have the funds to invest in this deal. If they did it would already be announced that they will match, waiting to match shows weakness in their position. NO possible good reason for waiting if they are able to match! By waiting it tells the fan base that they are limited in what they can and are willing to do, not the best message if you intend to match.

2)- They are trying to work out a trade but so far it isn't happening for them. Hard for Poile to ask for too much when Homer holds all the cards.

I predict Weber in Philly only question seems to be will it be for picks or a pkg and how generous PH wants to be.

Honestly, why should the Flyers even consider a trade if NNachville can't match the offer? This isn't Christmas and why hand them a gift when we don't have to. Nash has proven to be asking and expecting too much for Weber, so they need to learn a lesson by eating the 4 draft picks in exhange and call it a day. I don't why to hand over ANY roster guys, especially from the offense which is thin IMHO. I don't have faith in PH that he will play hard ball and not make a trade.

Poile is taking his time matching just to stick it to Homer. Until the Weber situation is resolved, Homer can't do anything else (e.g., Doan, Ryan).

The other thing being kicked around on some other boards is the idea of Nashville letting Weber go, taking the Flyers 4 picks, and packaging them with some of their own picks to get quality players from team(s) other than the Flyers. It's possible the delay could be partly due to Poile trying to figure out his options from that perspective.

Maybe they can package the picks or players from the flyers for Yandle to replace Weber

at this time , if teams would be willing to give up quality players for draft choices. That is a move you would see late in the year.
