is your question asking if you use the fj release bearing or the rb25 release bearing?

if so use the rb25 release bearing.

Are you doing the mods to the box yourself?

Ive already modified the box to suit the engine. Car is finished.

I checked with exedy, all 240mm hdb clutch kits for RB25 or FJ20 are the same part numbers. I.e same release bearing.

Getting a clutch pedal at the end of pedal travel. System is definitely bled, only other mod is a Nismo 13/16" slave from the standard nissan 3/4".

What mods were necessary?

I bolted an RB20 box to an FJ with no mods other than leaving out a bolt and a dowel. I'm wondering what would make the RB25 different.

correct me if im wrong, but if the slave cylinder bore size has been increased would not the master cylinder size need to be increase to maintain the same hydraulic advantage? could be the reason for only having a pedal at the very end of the stroke you may be exhausting the master before the slave is moved through a complete movement

I've just done this same conversion but I had my fj20 bell housing modified to fit to the RB box. Machined out the center hole of the front housing to fit over the main RB gearbox bearing...
I had the same problem with the clutch. There are 2 different length thrust bearing carriers. Short 24mm and a long 27mm (approx)
You need to use the longer carrier. I learnt this the hard way!!
I believe the RB20 and Fj20 slave cylinder is the same so won't make a difference...
Hope this helps..
