Hi Kwackers, where are you based and what are we looking at getting a pair of wheels re-built?

£20 labour per wheel, based in Lincs - P&P is £10 single wheel, £15 two, email me if you want to discuss rims, spokes, blasting, polishing etc don't mind if you just want assembly and truing or full strip, parts supply and rebuild.

I was asked to give an idea of wheelbuilding costs in the tech forum so here goes :

Build and true labour - £20 per wheel, if you supply spokes and rim with prepared hubs this is all you pay apart from P&P if required.

Stainless spokes with nickel brass nipples - £58 for both wheels, rear spokes are butted (Thick near hub, thin near rim) as they should be. I have both drum and disk wheel spokes.
I am quite happy for you to supply your own spokes but check the nipples fit through the rim, particularly on the rear.
(I never drill a rim for the larger nipples as this cuts the chrome and lets water in).

Hub - bead blast and light polish - £12 (including brake plate).

Rim - there are so many types I prefer you to supply your own.

Front bearings £3.49, Rear £5.49 (inc sprocket carrier).

P&P around £10-£12 single wheel, £15-£17 pair inc insurance.

I think that covers most of it but they are your wheels and your budget so I offer a personalised service, feel free to ask any questions.

Cheers, Nik

Hi Kwackers can you re-chrome original rims as well, if so what are you looking at per wheel? It's just it would be easier for me to send the bits to you to do the lot.
Purple is the new yellow.

I don't offer chroming for two reasons - I only send it in once I have a large batch of my own stuff to do as this is the only economical way and secondly everyone has their own idea of what a rusty old wheel should come out like !! I know I am happy with my chromer but I don't want to enter into debates with customers over a finish / process that I personally have no control over.

You only need 2 tools to be a motorcycle mechanic:

If it doesnt move and it should, use WD-40,
If it moves and it shouldnt, use Duct tape
