looks like this topic has been revived so, here goes again
following on from the shoot out of totally standard machines in 2005 i am trying to arrange the same but this time with no rules except

a; it must be road legal and
b; have the same bore and stroke as the original machine as supplied by the factory

after that its gloves off and the winner takes all

date and venue to be made firm once response has been gauged

come on, who has the fastest ped of all time

i will be doing the riding so if i smell a rat then we will lift the head and have a look see, it will take all of a couple of minutes

any cheating if discovered by my dyno arse will mean instant disq

whats the point in cheating? its to find the fastest 50 not 65
if we let in 65's why stop there we might as well let Brent back in with his CBX engined SS!!!

Why dont we run a couple of different classes. Standard Bore, big bore, etc.

That way more people can take part.

I have the speed camera so all we need is a venue a date and some participants. I have already agreed to sponsor the trophys.

well get mailing then but do keep foremost that fact that this is the second time we have tried to organise this event??

the UK's fastest 'Ped 2007

venue most likely to be midlands but i am open to ideas on that one
but it must be ok with our public liability insurance etc
date to be firmed up but ideally april to tie in with mag plans and schedules etc
and could do with being a weekday too as weekends are a bit busy for mag staff/photographers etc

rules as above road legal and basic engine dimensions to be as per factory
dont mind adding a second class for big bores but not too keen as it might deter the 50cc bikes which after all is what the article will be about

i am a bit worried about the trophy idea due to permits/insurance etc so maybe keep that one under wraps and between ourselves

lets see what response we get so a few more bits of the plan can be firmed up
it has worked before with the standard ped shoot out of 2005
loads of peds and a good time was had by all
even if the fantic was the fastest and there wasnt a fizzie or AP above 50mph

I think you`d propabaly get a much greater turn out if big-bore engines were allowed though do agree Brents merlin engine Honda was taking the p*ss a tad Big bores seem often the starting point on a tune. Now, where are me files
They call me Mr Tibbs.

Commer van, Allegro, 350N2, and Garelli next on list.

to be fair Brents SS was only brought because no one even bothered to get involved with an SS50
he rushed like a fly with a blue bum to get his bike ready and i did know all along it had a monster engine in it
and they same was nearly true of the Fizzie and AP brigade too
it was looking like a no show for some time in that department
but in the end we had one of each
