Right then,
I've just acquired an old DX type caliper to re-furb. I have never attempted this before, but I managed to get the bleed nipple out without too much trouble.

Now, how do i remove the piston, as it says in the haynes manual to blast air i the fluid inlet hole, as I don't have a compressoror i can't do this.

Is there any other way of removing the piston??.

Could you nip down your local petrol station and stick their air hose on it

or connect it back to the master cylinder and bleed the air out and pull the lever in so it pushes the piston out

sounds like it could be rusted in like mine, be patient and soak it in some penetrating fliud to loosen it up like 3 in 1 oil or something and leave it a few days before trying again.

While we're on this subject does anyone know where to get master cylinder seals from?

You can get them in a kit, i.e. new seals and piston, direct from yamaha....but they're about 40 quid Mine were alright, but i mixed and matched seals from another caliper I had.
The oldun's are the best'uns.........usually
