Well the trip didn't go as planned. The place I had a boat booked through had some mechanical issues and there was no boat for me. They ended up making me a deal on a guided 4 hour fishing trip. So me my son (Teddy) and his grandpa went out last Sunday. We were fishing shiners which was a first for me but proved to be very productive. I think we ended up catching around 30 with average size being in that 3 pound range. Biggest was 6-1/2 pounds along with two more over 5 pounds.  We only had a handful of doubles but bot times teddy picked up the rod with the bigger fish. Me and grandpa let him do most of the catching. He had a blast and was a little tired at end of the trip. He's not use to catching that many fish of that size, plus pulling them out of the reeds was a chore sometimes. Here are some pics.

Looks like a great trip with your son.  I'm sure he won't soon forget it.

It's never fun when your plans get screwed up at the last minute.  Nice of them to give you a guided trip though.  Looks like your son had a blast reeling in all those big fish.

Your son's face tells the whole story.  He won't soon forget that trip.  I'm sure he's going to be asking to go back real soon!
