Hey guys it's been awhile, hope everything is goin well. I'm finally all settled in here at Fort Carson in Colorado, and I have to say it is beautiful here. I finally got a kayak this past weekend but only got it out once. I went down to Pueblo Reservoir, which is about 40min south of me. I wasn't really expecting much with the water temp still at about 55* but hey! it's always good to get out especially since I've barely fished in 2 years.

Ill keep it short and sweet. I got there at about noon and fished till about 4, with that 4 hours I'd say about I spent a good hour to hour n a half paddling. But anyways I didn't have a bite until I was about to leave on a point on a north wind blown point. Got a nice little 14-15" smallie on a fluke. About 10min later on the same point I got another smallie about the same size. I had to get goin to do some things for the night. Wish I could have stayed longer because I think I could have found similar places and got some more smallies. Even though it was only 2 I had a good time and it was fun fishing from my kayak for the first, of many, many more to come.

Here's a few pics I took while I was out there. Enjoy.

Great outing Aaron.  The report and pics are great.  Looks like we'll have at least 5 kayak anglers here on the board.  I'm looking forward to your reports, so keep them coming.

Aaron,  I looked up that reservoir and it's got a lot of water to fish at 4,500 acres.  It also is suppose to have some huge stripers.  There is walleye along with the smallmouth you caught too.  I don't know about largemouth.  In anticipation of your reports, I set up a Colorado section.

Thanks guys, can't wait to get out more on some warmer water. I should have a couple more reports for ya guys this weekend. Rick, thanks for puttin up a Colorado section, I'll definitely be posting. And about the stripers, I've heard about big one, and also wipers. Saw where someone said something about potential world record class but who knows. Can't wait to get my swimbaits out here and try for them. There are largemouth also and spotted in there also.

You will have quite the variety.  You should be able to fish deep and shallow.  Pulling in a big striper in that kayak might get interesting.  It could take you for a little ride.
