John Potts passed away today. He was a very important part of racing history in the region and beyond. He was the flagman at the old Fairgrounds Speedway in Louisville, Ky and at Charlestown Speedway in Indiana. He also served as race director, flagman, and other duties and titles for IRP, Corbin Speedway and with the old ASA. Even Darrell Waltrip made a statement today about him: ""I always had the up most respect for John Potts and all he did for ASA, he waved a few checkered flags over me, RIP my dear old friend." - Darrell Waltrip
