I am following these directions but I can't get the threads to link.

I highlight the post title, right click and select "copy" and then click into the message box and right click and select "paste." The thread title shows up but not the link...

I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. I tried "copy link" but then I get the url...

Hi Sue

Actually if you paste a link inside the reply box, it does not show up as a link inside the reply box (in other words, if you position your mouse over it, the mouse pointer does not change to a hand symbol like it does with links) - but rest assured that the link does get embedded even though it does not immediately show.

After you've hit the send button, then once your reply gets tagged onto the end of the thread you're posting to, it does show up as a link there

Hope this helps

Tips & Tricks - How to Quickly Link Threads

Above: copied in thread index

This is my last try!!! I really am computer-literate, but this skill is just escaping me! I have tried everything I can think of and I am very carefully highlighting the thread titles.

The failure to do this simple task would have been a big smoke-fest trigger for me in past times, but I'm NTAP!

If someone has any clue why I can't do this simple thing, I'd love to hear it. I use Mozilla Firefox browser and wonder if that might have to do with it???

Yeah! I believe I finally got it!

The Easy Way to Quit Smoking (copied from above list)

Emotional Loss (copied from list of thread categories)

Exercising is so much easier PARADE
(copied from stats threads today)

If you are using Mozilla Firefox, you will not be able to follow the directions for this thread. You will also not have access to a cool toolbar in the message box that allows you to use emoticons, pictures, different text colors and sizes, etc.

Use the embedded IE in Firefox or switch to IE for this site...

Well Julia...

You cant give up that easy. Try this

I can't quit or I won't quit

1) Put your cursor in front of the "I" in the above thread
2) Hold down the left mouse button and drag the cursor the legnth of this thread
3) This should highlight the whole sentence
4) Then keeping your cursor the highlighted sentence, right click and a text box will apear, select (copy)
5) Move your cursor to another spot in the post and right click again, select (paste) I can't quit or I won't quit

give it another shot, I think your problem was your copying sentences and not links. There is a difference. so try it again.
