<t>Well, it's been a long time since I have been on the forum. In the last year I have walked through long term unemployment, two house moves, a horrid bout if anxiety and depression yet miraculously I haven't found it necessary to go back to nicotine. There have been some very dark days but I know ...

<t>Thank you for this Joel. Although I didn't serve in the world war 1 or 2, I was in the Forces for ten years. At that time practically everyone smoked and every training session had 'cigarette breaks'. We smoked in the offices too, with no ventilation. I hope the Armed Forces today are encouraged ...

Thanks so much Cindy - I do feel much better today and have been for a nice long run. I couldn't do that while I was smoking and it is a great way to relieve the tension. Nice bath with candles and bed for me now. Thank you again.x

<t>Thank you everybody for your support. The knot has eased now. As with anything, once I get into the solution, the problem starts to disappear. I am so glad I have surrender at a gut level and know that taking nicotine will only result in my having the original problem plus being addicted again. O...

<t>Hi Sherri, please can I gently ask you to re-read your first post "I need to be nicotine free or I will die inside and out". The power of addiction is that at certain times we cannot bring to the forefront of our minds, the pain and suffering of only a few days or weeks ago. We think only if what...

Thanks Joel - yes that makes sense. We have, in our AA traditions, a paragraph that says we do not align ourselves with any organisation or enter into any controversy. That helps us to focus on our primary purpose.

That's funny as I was thinking about that this morning. I was even thinking of starting a clinic myself to counter the NIcotine Replacement and Medication programme of the UK National a Health service which must spend millions with little return.
