Blood Serum Nicotine Concentrations
As suggested by the following charts, the smoker's blood serum nicotine level peaks quicker and higher than the oral tobacco users and smokeless nicotine delivery produces higher overall blood serum nicotine levels.  Research as to why the oral user would allow their blood serum nicotine level to climb to nearly twice that of the smoker's is still weak.  We do know that aside from all forms of nicotine delivery stimulating brain dopamine flow, that an additional chemical present in smoke but not oral tobacco suppresses the dopamine clean-up enzymes MAO A and MAO B, allowing the smoker's released dopamine to linger longer than the oral user's.
