I was trying to liven up my key lime tarts by drawing Christmas trees and wreaths on them. Then I decided to try to do something with the pie. I tried to use a hummingbird cookie cutter as a stamp using food coloring but it was too light. I enhanced the stamp using colored gel.

There are a number of hummingbird cookie cutters available online but they tend to go for $1-$2 and $8 shipping or $5 and $5 shipping. I found this for $1.20 at a local kitchenware store, The Rolling Pin Emporium.
