The red are salvia summer jewel, these are the plants are got from mays nursery[local] two weeks ago. The coral nymph were not blooming much at that time but after uppotting and shade half a day look at em now.

Verrrrry nice, Steve! I've noticed that Coral Nymphs always do well for me when they have partial shade. Summer Jewel is another new salvia that I've seen at my local nursery. Hmmm... wonder what drives these trends.

Hummers will use both the coccinea and the greggii but other than the feeders and honeysuckle the only potted plant they have used are the black and blue to this point.

Update time: Its been a month now and I took these shots so you can see the difference in growth , quite growth spurt as you might imagine. The two summer jewel in front are nursery plants from mays. The two behind are mine from seed thanks to Patrick. Notice the one from seed that is blooming is also much taller than the ones in front. I was able to count around 40 flower stems on each the plants in front.

In the beginning I think I did some pinching to get them going but after that no. Especially when they developed flower stems I did no pinching. I wonder just how much the use of "greens keepers secret 12-12-12" helps the bushiness . When I pot up a plant I always sprinkle some in then water it in well. In fact I use it on everything from tomato plants on down.
