HI everyone,
I have a user who had Smartview 11.1.1.3 installed on his computer (Windows 7, Office 2007).
I installed Smartview 11.1.2.1, but did not uninstall the previous version first.

The installation went through with no problems, but when I opened Excel, I could not get the Smartview ribbon to display.

I checked the addins list in Excel Options, and Smartview is enabled and pointing to the right file.

Anyone have any ideas why the ribbon will not show up?
Thanks.

Hi Ana,

I have version 11.1.1.3 installed and I can suppress the ribbon from loading by going to: Add-Ins->Hyperion->About and unchecking "enable add-in". Maybe there is a similar option in your version?

I had a similar issue with one of my users when he chose to disable smart view in Outlook. Although Smart View is selected in the Add-ins, if it was disabled in any other Office product, then it will apply to excel as well. Check the following:

In excel, go to File > Options > Addins. In the "Manage:" option near the bottom, select "Disabled Items" from the dropdown and click Go, see if Smart View is on the list. If so, remove it and this should fix it.

HOpe this helps.
