Hello,

I have a situation where i need to run the CubeRefresh command that is on the Planning server.

I need to be on the Essbase server, write a script with some maxl's to clear and load data in the Cube. But before this, i need to goto the Planning server and run the CubeRefresh command and then come back to the Essbase server and continue.

Has anyone done this. How do i excecute the command, using DOS or some other shell, from the Essbase server to the Planning server. I am using all Windows 2008 R2 server and Hyperion Sys 11.1.2.1

Thanks,

Have you tried PSEXEC? I have not tried this recently but it did work at one of our client system 9 implementations.

Other options to execute stuff on essbase/planning server using single process:
1. Run Batch using ODI: you could fire shell scripts on any server through ODI
2. HAL: This worked well through HAL too.
3. Install essbase client on planning server: Then you can run maxl from Planning server, execute refresh, and return back to execute MaxL.

PSEXEC is of course one.

VBScript is another: http://motevich.blogspot.com/2007/11/ex ... puter.html
PowerShell is yet another: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/libr ... 19505.aspx
