Hello,

Is there any way to implement the following security in a Planning application ?

User1 needs to have the following access rights :

write Acc1,Acc2,Acc3
read Acc1,Entity1
read Acc2,Entity2,Company3

User1 should have write access to all the entities for Acc1 except Entity1, and so on.

Thanks

Hi,

We have similar case, and i have created Security groups in shared services, then assigned the group to the entity/acct dimension in Planning.

In one case i had to manually do a fix in Essbase filters as well for a user.

So do check the filters in Essbase and ensure that proper None, Read, Write rows have the right acct/entity combinations.

Thanks,

Azmat

Hi,

I have groups for Acct, Entity, Scenario, Products etc etc dimensions that i have.

Then i assign appropriate access in Planning and then add users in the groups in Shared Services.

Then i have to refresh the security from Planning to Essbase.

This:
write Acc1,Acc2,Acc3
read Acc1,Entity1
read Acc2,Entity2,Company3

You are looking at the unicorn of Planning security -- an "AND" condition for Acc1 and Acc2.

AFAIK, what you want cannot be done except through a fairly horrendous combination of form read-only definitions in multiple forms.

Is there something I'm missing?

Hi Cameron,

No, you're right ... it's not possible to implement the security as in my example in a Planning Shared services security mode ...

Thanks
