Hi All,

We are facing a issue after installing Smart View 9.3.1, the excel2010 is getting crashed by throwing an error “F:\Hyperion\SmarView\Bin\HsTbar.xla could not be found”, in fact there is no F drive in the user system. Smart View was installed in the c drive.

When I go to options->addins->browse I see two options over there, one is “F:\Hyperion\SmartView\Bin\HsTbae.xla” and the other is “C:\Hyperion\SmartView\Bin\HsTbae.xla”.

Please suggest me how to fix this issue.

Thanks

There is a defect in certain versions of SmartView installers which will make it place part of the installation on removable drives (usb/hard disks).

Once you have removed the F: information I suggest you run a reinstall ensuring no removable drives are attached.

1) Exit from Excel
2) Run the regedit.exe
3) Search (Ctrl - F) for F:
4) Review the information, delete any keys you find with the invalid path (F:\Hyperion\....)
5) Repeat steps 3/4 until you find no additional instances.
6) Detach any removable drives and re-run the SmartView installer.

It may be easier to search for hstba rather than F:. Searching for hstba will likely reduce the number of entries you are looking at.

John,

User has only Smart View installed in his system so I have made a search for “Hyperion” in the registry and deleted the entire folder and restarted the machine and then installed Smart View. Still it’s throwing the same error.

Please perform the search for hstba in registry. The specific entries are not under a folder called Hyperion...

I thought that 9.3.3 was compatible with Excel 2010, but not 9.3.1.

Or did I dream that?

9.3.3 is compatible -- the OP would need to ensure their whole Hyperion environment is patched to 9.3.3

Compatibility Matrix: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E105 ... re_933.pdf

SmartView 9.3.3 patch: https://updates.oracle.com/ARULink/Patc ... m=11662580
In addition to the above SmartView patch they need to search for every product on support.oracle.com for the 9.3.3 patches. My blog has a list of the older patches -- these patches change every month or two depending on what defects Oracle locates.

If they have Planning and use EPMA they must patch portions of the software up to 11.1.1.3 as well.
