The game on saturday should give us a god insight into how far runcorn town have come.
Ramsbottom are most peoples favourite for the league and rightly so, they play a good game of footy for this level at a good pass and move tempo.
A victory for town would see them just 2 pts behind rammy having played the same games.
With 25 of the 42 games played this would give town a real chance of promotion.
What does everyone think.
Sensible answers please lets have a thread with no petty handbags girls.
Good luck to town.

From a neutral you would have to say if town take maximum points on Sat they are really challenging for the title. It's a rough league with only one spot sp you have to beat the team around you so no one pulls away.

If linnets continue their run and win the games in hand they will also have a say.

Yep linnets will be around the top 4 but i think they will have to be at there very best to take points from the teams in the mix.
They are starting to show signs of the early season form but more goals are needed.
Its a bit of a gamble for macca in that if he plays rob white and prescott it leaves the midfield a bit weaker. Matty atherton is dropping back when they don't have the ball to make five in the middle.

Bootle, barnoldswick and glossop should win this weekend so a win for town would do everyone a favour.

They are definatley the best side I have seen this season, the only team that I thought were that bit better than us in every department and hold the ball for long spells.

If Town win on Saturday it will show that they are serious title contenders, but their results against the other top teams have been indifferent so far, with only 1 win against Glossop I think?

The big difference about this season from others is that there is usually one team, maybe two, that are miles clear by now and cant be caught, but this season nobody is pulling away and even the top teams are falling to defeats against mid/bottom table clubs on a weekly basis.

It will be a very interesting run in to the title this year, Im still going for Ramsbottom though.

its a huge achievement that town are even been talked about in same sentence as teams that have a realistic shot of the tittle still.this is their season in this division and they more than in the mix at business end of the season when cups are still been fought over and theres a pecking order been established.i personally think if town do win this will carry them forward on a run that will take them to the tittle on the brink of it.i also only think realistically that ramsbottom can take the tittle of town.their destiny is in their own hands at town.if they do win its down to two points and town still have to go to ramsbottom and have atleast 4 games in hand that still need rearranging.most of towns run in games are very winable maybe except you say for linnets away in the derby ramsbottom away and blackpool away and barnoldswiok away.town havent lost away yet all their defeats have come at home.its a huge ask against ramsbottom they showed their powers and come storming up to take the lead over from town ironically but its one i think they got more than a chance of doing.it will open up the tittle race and it will definatly back on.town points down and too go to ramsbottom and barnoldswick as well i agree it could get rather interesting.whatever the outcome though town deserve a huge amount of credit for their season.

Reguardless of who wins on Saturday it will have little bearing on the title, reason being that no team is good enough to win the next 6 or 7 on the spin. It keeps happening that when it looks like a team is starting to pull clear, they lose a game out of nowhere.

Both Town and Ramsbottom have done this against Squires Gate.

You'll get smashed tomorrow off Rammy, yeah they got beat off Squires Gate but apparently no keeper and top scorer didnt turn up and all 3 first choice centre mids werent playing. They beat linnets 2-1 but in all fairness they schooled us!
