So Pickering is done and has revealed a lot about the current state of some elite crews from Ontario and Quebec. What will happen at the Island??

2011 A DIVISION RESULTS

1 - WARRIORS (1:59.15)
2 - NDRC PREMIER (2:00.37)
3 - CSDC (2:00.99)
4 - BIG FISH (2:01.65)
5 - SRP (2:01.89)
6 - HAMMERHEADS (2:02.47)

Definitely see Warriors and NDRC vying for a top 3 finish again. Slipstream did not race at the Island last year but you can bet they will be gunning for 1st this year.

CSDC has fallen off with an 8th Place finish in Pickering. Is this a blip on the radar or a sign of things to come?

SRP and Hammerheads finished 6th and 7th in Pickering and should make a decent showing but can they break into the top 3? Probably not.

Big Fish are a big question mark. All should be answered by the 24th.

Just a correction, it was those New Dragon University kids that placed second last year, not NDRC Premier. Slipstream and NDRC Premier were both in Ottawa.

1) Slipstream - all day, every day
2 or 3) Warriors or NDRC Premier - who ends up with 2nd and who takes 3rd will depend on lane assignment
4) Storm
5) NDRC University
6) Hammerheads

7) CSDC
8) Big Fish

I'm not sure what was revealed. Starts were terribly done at Pickering.

1) Slipstream: strong showing as always
2) Warriors: taking pickering easily, especially with the 200m
3)NDRC hanging in the top 3 big dogs
4) NDRC kids: farming team of ndrc premier. has to rank close
5) storm: strong showing at pickering after losing big time coach and replacing some old paddlers.
6) big fish: huge turn over this year... manage to sneak into A final?

Is it me but is there really just a big separation this year?

Slipstream is better than everyone. Then there is a group of Verdun, Mayfair and NDRC.

Then there is a BIG drop off with Storm, Big Fish, NDRC kids and CSDC. I think this group is more about the falling off of Big Fish and CSDC since I don't think anyone from this group can beat the top 4 at all this year.

After failing to quality for CCWC, Big fish and SRP are in a rebuilding year. Slip, Warriors, NDRC, Verdun are not. They are at the top of their game and looking for medals in HK next month. It's no surprise that there is a clear separation. If they can't beat the local "rebuilding" teams then they'd have no chance in HK.
