No one seems to be talking about that event.

The event was really drawn out. The time gap between first race and second was about 3 hours (no kidding).

The final left something to be desired. 2 heats with the best time winning the grand championship. I always believed the overall winner should race all other contenders head-to-head to determine a final.

Lane 3 was also dreadfully slow. Team usually finished in the order of Lanes 3,2 and 1.

However, the availability of a fair nearby and a volleyball court was great!

From what I gathered, all the timing was done by hand. For a festival that costs $500 to enter, I think that's totally unacceptable.

Who ran the Hamilton race? What boats were they using?

The Hamilton festival was done by TCBA (sort of). Actually, I think all TCBA did was provide PFDs, boats, and paddles. And yes, Cowans were legal for the event.

I'm pretty sure the boats were the new fibreglass ones used on the Island.
