Hey Doni, I just checked the replay and you were right I did make contact. From my cockpit I couldnt tell. I was just following you through the racing line and you slowed earlier than I anticipated and I tried to make it around the outside. I even thought you were possibly trying to let me go, or you ran out of fuel, but I intended to wait.. I'm sorry.

Congrats to all. This is a very interesting track. I managed to find a little pace in qualifying, but Ziggy found even more once the green dropped. I let him by while fumbling with pit stop settings at the wrong time and place. Then I spun and lost a lot of time trying to recover which left me in 5th at the checker. Fun as always. Thanks Trae.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to this...

Not a problem, Mike.  Just a little mis-communication.  I saw you coming and there was just no way to even consider dicing with you.  I pulled more to the right than I normally do and breathed the gas to open the door for you on the left but you chose to pass right.  It gave me quite a fright to trundle off onto the grass but fortunately, I didn't hit anything.  I must confess to mumbling a few choice expletives at the time, tho as I lost something on the far side of 10s.  No harm done in the end!

From the start, I was just trying to hang onto to Trae but ultimately, gradually faded back.  Mike, Ziggy and Jimmy were long gone.  Jimmy was especially quick.  Admirable job.  For any substantial result, it was going to come down to the pit stops and luck.  My stop was a timed affair(in that I didn't take on a full tank)and as things shook out, I managed to get ahead of all but Mike.  In the late going, I was going +-eyed watching Ziggy and Trae close in and if weren't for those bloody polos, my P2 placing may have been in jeopardy.  Poor Ziggy...  He drilled one and comprehensively wrecked his 'stang.  I know what it was like.  In pre-race trials, I accidently clipped one and it killed the 'cuda dead on the spot.  Like those barrels at Laguna if you remember.

What's that old phrase?  I'd rather be lucky than good any day.
