I'll be home for this re-sked run at Riverside, Trae.  My son is flying 'solo' this week at Ryerson.  Fingers X'd that he'll be able to manage.  (Quite frankly and in all honesty, I am fully confident that he can)

We drove down yesterday...his first class is normally at 09:00 Monday but this was cancelled; next class not til 16:00...leaving the house here in Keswick at 12:24 hours.  We arrived at our hotel next to the campus at 13:22 hours.  Just 58 minutes for the 76km run.  To leave early on Monday to make that 09:00 class, we leave at about 06:30 and don't arrive til 08:40, give or take a few minutes.  My but isn't driving rush-hour traffic fun!

Only thing that will cause me to miss this round is a May Day call from junior needing me to come down and fly as his wingman again.  Not likely to happen but...

I ran a test race today.  Just two laps to see how the pace car behaved and to spot my pit stall.  The pacer seemed rather keen to stick to the far left side of the road at every opportunity but otherwise didn't go for a wobbly.  We got the green as we came up on the first set of gantry lights.  As you may recall from last year's race, the pit stalls are way, way back there at the paddock garages.  That seems weird but I guess it's same for everybody.  I also took a run at the polos(tyres planted in the ground; got that term from a Dutch GPL buddy of mine)and WAMO!  The AAR 'Cuda comprehensively destroyed in a heartbeat.  Steer well, well clear of 'em, gys.

Groan...  Just woke from my coma after tangling with those stinking polos at Riverside.  WAMO!  It still hurts.  Not sure what happened other than to say that I must have just cut my line a tad too close.

What a pity as I'm sure it was shaping up to be a grand duel.  Trae and I seemed near-equal on performance.
