This has gone viral -- 1943 US War Department public service video:
After months of lurching around unsteadily, events appear to be leading to violence. I used to keep up with the Rightist militias in the 1980s and 1990s; but after the turn of the century, they went quiet. That mystified me, since I knew the militia people hadn't gone away.
In hindsight, they went quiet because the political scene shifted so far to the Right that the militia people didn't feel the need to resort to violence, they thought they could get want they wanted anyway. Now it's all back out in the open. The militia people don't have a future, but that's what makes them dangerous.
And some more nostalgia, Andrews Sisters from way back when:
I'll have to learn how to sing this:
He's in the Army now --
A-blowin' reveille --
He's the boogie-woogie bugle boy of Company B!
