We are a custom, pre-AOS shard 2.5 years old running the current live classic client in what has been described as "hardcore mode". A strong focus on the risk versus reward "rush" is our core model. We are under the fel. ruleset with the main map and some of ish. populated. You have to crawl before you can walk and we cater to the demographic that remembers when uo was harder or for someone looking for a more rewarding, long term mmo experience.

Features like vendors not buying/selling and no repair have created a REAL economy. This along with the player res. bonus and pve difficulty, has created a real need for community. You CAN do it all but it would take an eternity. Instead of players trying do everything themselves, their skills tend to reflect what actual role they want to play or to fill whatever void the community currently had. Every character here is truly unique. The only main combat skill that has been grand mastered is a GM swordsman. Most melee skills are between 70 and 80 with some of the older players having low 90s. No one has broken past 90 in magery.

Creatures hit harder here and armor is very important. Each piece plays a very important role. If you get hit in an unarmored spot you will take 100% of the damage and damaged is calculated using the AR of that specific piece. This has been a source of confusion with players accustom to the AOS resists. Damage will not be calculated by the total of your physical resists but the AR of the specific piece taking the hit.

Skin everything! The low level food buffs (ribs, bird, fish, venison, etc.) are a great way to get through until you max stats. Vendors will train skills up near 40 and the skillgain here does not start to slow down until past 50, then it gets exponentially higher every 10 levels after. So, starter skills could be prioritized but I would recommend starting with the skills you intend to use right off the bat. You can make gold as a crafter or as an adventurer immediately.

    Quests:
There is a crafthall with "fill" quests boards for each tradeskill with items the crafter would use to normally train that skill. For adventurers, there is a npc quest tower. The new player quests are on top of WBB. just say "yes". Doing the sewer quest is a great way to build skills, gold, and a food supply. Skin everything, almost all player cooked food gives stat/regen buffs and the entrails and hides are materials used in other trade skills. While doing these guests you will get quest points. 40 points will get you a small house. The reward books are upstairs, WBB.

    Don't be afraid to ask!
