That's not 100% true. ;)
True, I should have clarified it a bit, maybe something like ``are immune to rocks and all upgrades thereof".

Regarding the henchman, as I've already let on: it is possible to kill him - that should be almost all the help you need if you put together fact that you ought to already know:

Henchmen of all types are immune to all non mêlée weapons...

So a bit of trial and persistence will lead you quickly to an answer; I'm sure you won't be flailing around in the dark for too long...
How come a high score attempt? As far as I know, RTDC doesn't keep a numeric score as DC & BCD did. Or are you referring to external scoring rules, like your Potion Factory challenge?

And with respect to the Potion Factory henchman, it didn't take much *flailing* in the dark to figure it out indeed ;-) Now if I'd only known about that when I was in beginner... sigh!

Regards,...

Eh, yes - given that this thread is meant to be about that challenge. :)

For me, that's impossible. Now I have a dozen replays of me dying and dying and dying and dying in the Potion Factory again and again. :P I'll try Intermediate, at least then the guard is not there!

Hey, I did it. Well, only three times and on intermediate, but hey!
Next I'll try my luck on advanced.

Nicely done! And the replay actually worked as well, which is a bonus :)

Let's see, judging by this scoring rubric, I recent run I did earned me... 11 points. Although I had fireballs and all the armor (I got whacked once when I was impatiently fighting the guard, but that wouldn't have killed me with or without the armor). For this demo, I was just trying to record a time when I had to do a bunch of combinations without getting the right one, and never getting hit by anything etc. I also never exited and re-entered the room or anything. And I didn't bother with the extra warp potion or trying to pick up an extra warp potion or anything.

It was:
4 times with an incorrect combo = 4 pts
1 correct combo = 2 pts
1 final correct = 2 pts
1 warping out = 3 pts
Total = 11 pts

Maybe I'll try to beat Richard's 19 pointer. Will require a lot of luck for me, though. I probably die / dungeon 50% of the time I try this level.

Wow, actually trying it (and resurrecting a dead thread in the process)! Remember that you are not allowed any upgrades (no fireballs either) when submitting, and that (looking at your scoring above) you wouldn't have got the "final correct" - since that implies you tried all 6 combinations and the last one was correct. You'd need 5 incorrect.

Yeah the fireball would have DQ'd me. I'll have to make a save to actually try the challenge. I meant that I happened to already have a desire to record a long run for PF, so I had that recording and played it back to get the score from it.

I assume final correct meant going past the door and downstairs, since you were getting a correct answer multiple times in your video. Does it only mean that if you happened to try 6 and the 6th was the correct one?

Yeah final correct implies that it was the 6th attempt; so you can score that once per (re-)entry. You also don't score it for trying to wrong ones after you got the right one!

I did post a "film" character you could use I think if you so wished somewhere back in the thread, but making your own is obviously fine too if you can be bothered. Not sure what the current RtDC version is or whether the char files from the earlier versions are compatible.
