I finished reading the trilogy last year and honestly enjoyed the series. Although I have to say the final novel wasn't great. It was OK at best.

With The Hunger Games coming to theatres, I think I'll give this flick a pass.

Anybody else who has read the books feel the same way?

In a newspaper review of the film adaptation of the first novel, a local critic says that the nation of Panem is America in the future. When reading the books, I thought Panem took over the entire continent of North America.

Really flipped my whole experience on this movie walking in to it after reading the book. Probably would have been eyerolly and a mess without it but still thought it was a worth while spectacle...

Book was really good but ain't reading the next book.

But yah, the dry spell in high impact movies is bad news. Never even saw the movie that won best picture.

The first book has a lot more action and gradually tapers off as the series continues. In the final chapters of the last book (Mockingjay), it's as if the author gave up.

As I said earlier I liked the book up until the end, the end was a bit ridiculous.
